The Champion's Mantle

When a champion falls in one verse, their mantle, cloak, tabard, or sigil-banner, whatever they wore at the moment of greatness, does not simply decay. It waits.

A Mantle can be inherited. A new-born of any species, spun into the world under a Champion's Blood lineage (see forthcoming Sprint 1.F), rises wearing a phantom of their ancestor's mantle: the same species, the same weapon, the same learned techniques, threaded into their bones before they draw first breath.

The Mantle does not remember the dead champion's mind. It remembers their shape. A new life takes that shape and fills it with its own.

"You were not born. You were continued."
