Privacy Policy

FateBreak ("FateBreak", "we", "us") is a game you can play as a Discord Activity and on the web, operated by GREYCASTLE SOLUTIONS LTD, trading as FateBreak. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using FateBreak you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. If you play through Discord, your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar, as permitted by the scopes you authorise. If you sign in with email or Google, your email address and display name.
Gameplay data. The characters you create, your spins, in-game stats and collections, match results, story progress, and similar game state.
Purchase records. A record of what you bought and when. We do not collect or store your card or bank details: payments are processed by Discord and/or Stripe, who handle that information under their own policies.
Usage & analytics. Events such as sessions, actions taken, the platform you played on, and how you found us (for example, the Discord server you launched the game from), tied to a random identifier stored on your device or, when signed in, to your account, so we can understand how players find and enjoy the game.
Content you provide. Names you give your characters and any suggestions or ideas you submit to the community board.

2. How we use your information

To run, maintain, and improve the game and your account.
To process purchases and grant the items or spins you buy.
To generate your character's art, lore, and narration (see below).
To measure how the game is discovered and used, and to fix problems.
To prevent abuse, cheating, and fraud, and to keep the game safe.

3. AI-generated content

Character art, written lore, stories, and voice narration are generated by artificial intelligence (Google's Gemini models) from game data: your character's attributes, and the names of the characters in a story, which can include other players' characters. Your email address and account details are never sent. AI output is provided "as is" and may be imperfect.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We use a small number of service providers to operate FateBreak:

Discord: the platform you play on and one of our payment processors.
Stripe: card payments where Discord in-app purchase is unavailable.
Google: sign-in with Google, and AI generation of art, lore, and narration (Gemini).
Our email provider: sending sign-in codes.
MongoDB Atlas: database hosting for your game data.
Render: application hosting.

Each provider processes data under its own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

5. Your rights (UK GDPR)

FateBreak is operated from the United Kingdom and processes personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email us (below) and we will respond within one month.

Our lawful bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (to run the game and your account and to process purchases); our legitimate interests (to improve the game, understand how it is found and used, and prevent abuse); and your consent where required.

If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

6. Data retention

We keep your game data while your account is active. Usage and analytics events are deleted after 13 months. Purchase records are kept for as long as the law requires for accounting. You can delete individual characters in-game, and you can ask us to delete your account and personal data by emailing us.

7. International transfers

Some providers we use (for example Discord, Stripe, Google, and our hosting) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, to protect your data.

8. Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember game state and preferences (for example, sound settings) and the random identifier used for analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Turn off analytics on this device.

9. Children

FateBreak is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet the minimum age required by Discord and by UK law to use the service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. Purchases require you to be 18 or over, or to have a parent's or guardian's permission.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and continued use of FateBreak means you accept the changes.
